• OUR WHY

My grandfather, Si, passed away worried about his financial situation. Si grew up in the Great Depression. He worked hard, spent little and saved most of his earnings. I remember opening Christmas presents as a kid at their house. We had to pull off the tape slowly, piece by piece, to not tear the wrapping paper so that he could reuse it the next year.

One day in 2006, my grandfather asked me to come over and review their finances. He was a very private man, and, prior to this, he didn’t want anyone involved. Not even my grandmother knew what they did or didn’t have. I sat down and walked through everything with him. They had done well. His guaranteed income provided more than what they needed to live off, so mathematically, he had nothing to worry about. The problem was he had Alzheimer’s.

​I continued to go over there every month and bring them Steak ‘n Shake, his favorite lunch, and review the same numbers. I would try to help him understand he and my grandmother, Dottie, would be OK. Unfortunately, I was too late. His Alzheimer’s was too far along for him to fully understand. He passed away worrying about his finances on Christmas Day 2009.

PART OF OUR MISSION IS WE WANT ALL OF OUR CLIENTS TO ACHIEVE “TRUE WEALTH.” WE DEFINE TRUE WEALTH AS ANYTHING THAT MONEY CANNOT BUY AND DEATH CANNOT TAKE AWAY.

My grandfather is the reason Centorbi Financial Group is what it has become today. You see, he lived his life by default, not by design. He never focused on life, so when he finally made the effort to do this, he no longer had the mental capacity to re-focus on life. After going through this process with him, I didn’t want this to happen to any of my clients.

Part of our mission is we want all of our clients to achieve “true wealth.” We define true wealth as anything that money cannot buy and death cannot take away. This is my purpose for being in business: to make sure our firm can support our clients with accomplishing true wealth because that is what we feel is most important. This is why we created the true wealth planning process
